Steaua Bucharest vs Real Madrid

Real Madrid will travel to Bucharest with the aim of getting a win from this match. Madrid are at the moment second in their group with Lyon topping the table and playing really well. Real Madrid fans would have been very disappointed after their 1-0 loss to Getafe and will be looking to make a comeback. The performance at Getafe was very poor indeed, with club greats labeling the loss as one of the worst matches they have seen Madrid play in a long time. They have gone to 5th in the table in La Liga and it doesn’t look good for Capello and his men.

Fabio Capello will be glad to welcome back his key men in defense, Sergio Ramos and Fabio Cannavaro. Both of them had missed out the weekend match with injury and suspension respectively. Steaua Bucharest will look to atleast get a draw if not a win from this match, as this has been the first time in 10 years that they will be playing in the Champions League. They won their last match 4-1 against Dynamo after losing to leader Lyon at home. Jose Antonio Reyes will still be out and we might see Beckham starting again. It is likely that Emerson and Diarra will both play in the midfield along with Cassano and Beckham in wide positions. Raul will feature in the match but it is not sure if he would get a starting place in the line-up. Ruud Van Nistelrooy will lead the attack for Madrid. For Bucharest, Goian will be back after an injury and that will be a big boost for the home team.

This might look like a one-sided affair on paper but with Madrid’s poor form this season anything is possible. The match will be tight in the first half with both teams not looking to concede an early goal. A first half draw at 2.05 seems a decent bet on that basis. I also don’t quite fancy the defense of the two teams so it is likely that the match is not going to be a clean sheet for any team irrespective who wins. At the odds of 2.00 for both teams to score sometime it could prove to be a money winner. End of the day, Madrid could have it in them to win the match so Asian Handicap on Madrid (-0.5) at 2.075 is what most people will be looking for.
