Arsenal vs Hamburg

Hamburg visit London in search for their first points in the Group G of the Champions league. Not only are they out of the reckoning for qualifying for the knock out phase, but they are also not going to make it for the UEFA cup. Arsenal won 1-2 away from at Hamburg and are unbeaten in their last 12 matches at home and have yet to concede in the last 7 matches. Hamburg’s last win in this competition was 6 years back versus Juventus. This is a crucial fixture for Arsenal and almost a must win game for them. Hamburg are just having a poor run all over, they are now second last in the Bundesliga and could not even manage a win against Mainz 05 who are bottom of the league.

Arsene Wenger was struck a major blow when William Gallas pulled a thigh muscle in training. He is now facing a rather lengthy lay off and would most probably not feature in the Arsenal team till the new year. This will open up a spot for the young and talented defenders like Philippe Senderos and Johan Djouru. Both are capable of playing in the centre back position, but Senderos has more experience than Djouru. There is some good news for the gunners with Van Persie passing the fitness test is looking good to start versus Hamburg. Freddie Ljungberg has shrugged off his injury concerns and is match fit for the important clash. The Brazilian midfielder, Gilberto Silva is again available for selection after returning from Brazil.

The bets are pretty much stacked up for Arsenal to win this convincingly. A good bet would be Arsenal to win by 2 or more goals at 1.6. ‘Total goal Minutes’ to be over 140 is also a good bet at 2.0. This basically means that you sum of the time of each goal scored and that should turn up to more than 140. Arsenal to win to nil is going at the odds of 1.50.
