Wigan Athletic v Arsenal

Arsenal will travel to the JJB in an effort to climb to 3rd in the table. They are currently standing at 6th with 26 points. Arsenal and Wigan both have managed to win only 1 match out of their last 5 matches, which is a poor effort by the team from London. This season Arsenal have won all their matches in which they haven’t conceded which also takes the statistics of 34 matches without playing a goalless draw. If Wigan manage to get a result out of this match they could climb as high as 8th in the league, also not to be forgotten that they beat Arsenal in the Semi-final of last years Carling Cup.

Arsene Wenger has a lot to worry about with his key players still facing injury worries ahead of the busy Christmas period. Thierry Henry has not been ruled out till the New Year with a neck problem as well as some Hamstring pull. Tomas Rosicky is out with a groin injury along with William Gallas who is currently nursing a thigh injury and is due to be fit in a weeks time. Abou Diaby is doubtful for the match with an ankle injury, while Lauren also misses this match. Kolo Toure will be back for this match after being suspended for the match against Chelsea. Paul Jewell will be happy that his first choice keeper, Chris Kirkland is back after recovering from a concussion on Saturday.

I am going for a Gunners victory in this match and for them to put up a strong performance on the back of a good show at Stamford Bridge. Arsenal to keep a clean sheet is at 2.10 which is a strong bet. Arsenal to win is at the odds of 1.72 which is a good bet by itself. A half time draw at 2.25 is also a strong bet for Arsenal away from the Emirates stadium.
