Everton’s season has just started to show some promise after their 3-0 victory over a relatively in form Newcastle side. They have managed to keep 3 consecutive clean sheets and picking up 7 out of the possible last 9 points. Man City have also been in good enough form and the results definitely confirm that. They picked up their first back to back wins in over a year ( approximately 50 matches ). The Everton defense has been water tight and really strong off late. They have not conceded a goal in their last 300 minutes of football in the premier league.
City have consistently got good youngsters coming through and every year we see one of them doing spectacularly well. This year its been all Micah Richards who has played superbly in every position he has played in. City have used him in his right back position and also sometimes making use of him as a defensive midfielder and also as a centre back. Other team news from the City camp is the doubtful Richard Dunne who faces a late fitness test. Paul Dickov will return to the line-up. Joey Barton is out for this match due to a suspension. He has particularly been in great form which has attracted links from other clubs like Newcastle and Bolton. There are no fresh injury worries for David Moyes, but Alan Stubbs could still be out with a knee problem.
Last season City managed to win to NIL against Everton at home with Mills and Vassell getting on the score sheet. They last played in October this season in the reverse fixture which ended all square after 90 minutes due to a late Micah Richards equalizer.
I am going for an Everton clean sheet yet again. The odds for that are 3.0, which is pretty good. An Asian Handicap on Everton (0) at 2.15 is also a decent bet if you ask me. Look out for Andy Johnson and for him to score with the odds at 2.62.
