Serie A week 30 preview

With seven points separating first from second and second from third, the Serie A title picture is again pretty clear. Inter Milan and Juventus might between them have already decided the top two places, but the battle for other European spots is very much alive.
Third-placed Milan are well-set for a return to the Champions League and should cement their place in the top three with victory against second-from-bottom Lecce.
Lecce have won once in the last 11, with their only clean sheet in that run coming against rock-bottom Reggina.
Milan failed to score for the first time in 23 matches at Napoli last time out and will surely get back to scoring form against the defensively shaky visitors. Their front men – especially Alexandre Pato – are in good form and I expect them to score at least three in claiming the points in this one.
Genoa are currently four points adrift of Milan in fourth and are almost guaranteed a top six finish and Europa League qualification. This would represent a major triumph for a club recently inhabiting the lower divisions, but they are on course for a Champions League qualifying place.
A trip to bottom club Reggina should not derail those hopes – the Calabrians have not won in the league since late November and their survival hopes have all but disappeared.
Genoa won the other league meeting between the two 4-0, with all the goals coming in the second half. The three wins they have secured from their last five fixtures have also come through goals scored after the break and punters might want to consult the half time / full time markets.
