It’s only week 2. And the games this time of the year don’t mean a whole lot. That’s already been established. But I’m sick of talking about that. Because there are 2 huge match-ups this weekend. Those match-ups are in the AFC East and NFC East. The New England Patriots will visit the New York Jets and the New York Giants will visit the Dallas Cowboys.
The New England Patriots are over-rated. There I said it. And the New York Jets might be under-rated. This adds up to a problem for the Patriots. The Pats barely beat a Buffalo Bills team that isn’t that good. Meanwhile, the Jets took care of a Houston Texans. So, I think we’re going to see a pretty big Jets win on Sunday. I just don’t think the Pats are not that good on either side of the ball. And I think the Jets are going to get to Tom Brady a lot. The Jets will win this game by at least 2 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, in Dallas, even though it is just Week 2, we will find out a lot about both of these teams. How good are the Giants without Plaxico Burress and how good are the Cowboys without TO? I think we’re going to find out that both teams are pretty good. But I think we’ll find that the Cowboys are better. However, we might not see that Sunday night.
The Wild Card in all of this is the Giants’ defense. They have Osi Umenyora back and they look to be a lot better than the Cowboys’ defense. Dallas should have a good defense but they looked pretty bad against a Tampa Bay offense that probably won’t be very good this year.
But in the end, Dallas is opening their new stadium on Sunday night. And I think Romo and company will find a way to pull this one out. But only by a point or 2, which means the Cowboys probably won’t cover.
