After drawing blanks against Birmingham City, all eyes will be on Liverpool as they host Romanian side Steaua Bucharest in the Europa League on Thursday.

Liverpool have an important league fixture against Manchester United coming up this weekend and coach Roy Hodgson will have one eye on it. Hodgson is expected to rest some of his key players, meaning that the likes of Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard may not play the entire 90 minutes on Thursday night.

Joe Cole will return from suspension for Liverpool, but Dirk Kuyt continues to be sidelined.

Steaua and Liverpool have met in Europe before, with the Reds winning 2-1 over two legs in the second round of the UEFA Cup in 2003.
